#3 On The Hunt: White Sneakers

Whenever I’m asked about dressing down an outfit my response nearly 100% of the time will be a firm’ WHITE SNEAKERS!’

Yep, white sneakers are the quickest way to add versatility to looks you already own. The pop of white creates some contrast and interest to a look but is neutral enough to not overpower an outfit. Oh, and they’re bloody comfy.

They can be veeeery affordable (my most worn pair are $15!) but also come in a range of designs and styles.

I’ve included a bunch of leather and leather-look options below since they’re the easiest to clean. They include pairs I’e tried and test, plus ones mentioned over on the Trash To Treasured Made Me Do It Facebook group.

Happy hunting!

Kmart Low Top Sneakers ($15)

A cheap and cheerful and 10/10 comfy- for me.

I say for me because my mum tried them and needed a softer sole near her heels. I had no issues with them on my recent trip to London (walked 15km a day!) so worth a try on.

Perforated upper and (faux) leather finish.

Converse Chuck Taylors Leather Ballet ($80)

The classic canvas Chuck Taylor sneakers were my first- and second, and third! The only downside to the canvas pair was keeping them clean which is why I’ve linked the leather version.

The ballet style is lovely for pretty dresses and skirts!

Marks & Spencer Leather Star Sneakers ($97.50)

They’re also a #samesamebutdifferent version of the Golden Goose sneakers ($590).

Wore these for a photoshoot with Marks & Spencer and ended up staying in them for the rest of the day! 10/10 comfy, no chafing even though I didn’t have socks with me at the time (oops!).

Superga 2750 $130

Did you know the first Superga sneaker was manufactured in Italy in 1911?

The ‘2750’ design has been around since 1925 and now comes in a range of colours, fabrics and prints- or pretty gold finishes like below!

Lacoste Graduate ($150) and Lancelle ($160)

Higher price point but great reviews over in the FB group.

My preference are the more streamlined Lancelle pair but the Graduate look great for a chunkier look without being OTT! Both have leather uppers.

Veja Sneakers ($155)

Veja is an environmentally conscious French shoe brand. The soles on these bad boys are made of recycled plastic (3 plastic bottles to be exact) and rubber sourced from the Amazon (thanks, Wikipedia!).

Spotted on Meghan Markle and recommended in the T2T group, they’re available on The Iconic.

Frankie4 Jackie Sneakers ($230)

Whenever the topic of comfy shoes comes up (for work or play) Frankie4 Footwear ALWAYS gets a mentioned.

I’m yet to try them, mainly because they’re above the $150 price point I share on the blog, but the style I’ve linked has 1249 five star reviews alone.

Can’t deny that hype!
