Incase you haven’t noticed, ballet flats are back in full force and for the discerning fashionistas you know, that I know that we’re loving the break from heels! From party flats, to the classic round toe and mary jane style, it’s important to note the ballet flats humble beginnings. The shoe was formed for the ballerina stage from heels to flats, only then to be made in an off stage version for the runway. It was then donned on it girls like Audrey Hepburn in the 50s and 60s and again making a resurgence in the early noughties thanks to Repetto on the likes of Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss as an off duty shoe.
Now your history lesson is over, I’m pleased to share an edit of ballet flats for if you’d like to save or splurge on a pair.
