4 Autumn/Winter Trends To Try

With autumn nearly done and dusted (WHERE has the year gone?!) I’ve hunted down some pieces to last through May and also get the winter wardrobe ready. I’m a big fan of elevating the basics in our wardrobe with a few trending pieces. Read on for my May favourites.

COLOUR POP

After a mostly black/white/grey colour palette in my wardrobe last winter I’m determined to re-style the basics with pops of colour this time around. Not hard to do when bright reds, greens, yellow (hellooo mustard!) and pinks are trending. If you’re experimenting with colour you can start small with a bright bag, shoes or pare back a colourful knit with a dark jacket.

VELVET

I have some amazing velvet boots and a wrap dress I wore for my birthday dinner from last winter which will be staying firmly in rotation this year as well. Velvet long sleeve dresses are so perfect for night time events when it gets cold!

STATEMENT BOOTS

One of the quickest ways to add interest to an outfit is a statement boot. Look for an interesting heel, studded embellishment, or a different colour to the standard black and brown.

TORTOISESHELL

I’m a sucker for a bit of gold detail to finish off a look but lately I’ve been gravitating to tortoiseshell. Love that it goes with nearly every colour (especially the bright ones trending at the moment!) while also adding a classic vibe.
